Well what better way to kick off this blog than writing about the Toronto Maple leafs and their inability to hold a lead.....scratch that....score goals.....no forget that too. How about their inability to stay composed in pressure situations and win a hockey game. You would have thought that after getting out to a 3-0 lead in the game tonight that it would be smooth sailing from there. Especially against Carolina, who now move ahead of Toronto in the standings, leaving the leafs all alone, not only in the Eastern Conference, but in the entire National Hockey League. At this point I have no idea what the leafs need to do in order to start winning hockey games.
Coaching change? I don't think so. They've been blaming poor play on coaching for the last 5 years.
Management change? Not a chance. Brian Burke has done everything necessary to make this team a winner. On paper, they should be dominating the East.
Whatever has to be done, the Leafs better figure it out soon.
